Now that I've got your attention again!

Thanks again for your support and advice.  I do know what I am doing as I had this procedure about 15 years ago!
It's called a TURP = TransUrethral Resection of the Prostate.
An endoscopic instrument is passed through the opening of the penis through to the prostate and some of the centre of the prostate is removed, rather like taking the core out of an apple.  This enables the man to expell urine more easily.  The procedure has been refined over the years and is very successful these days.
I'm sure that Ray knows all about this procedure.

I had the more radical procedure some three years or so ago. This involved removing the prostate up to and including the lymph nodes. Unfortunately my prostate tumor was malignant and they couldn't afford to take the chance that it had moved up the chain, so to speak. Good luck. Enjoy it while you have it. When its gone - its gone!

I know what you are going through. I've had prostritus before and now I am having painful orgasms. My PSAs have been high for months, but I put off taking care of it to care of my ill father who died January 9th, 2012.
I see the urologist next Monday and honestly I am pretty scared. Take away my sexualality and you take away a lot. I am hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Dad had prostate cancer and I saw what he went through. I am losing weight at a rate of about two pounds per week. A few months ago I had a tumor removed from my ear. Fuck! I thought I'd be fucking well into my ninties! (I'm only 48.) Anyway, I know what you might be going through. I wish you the best!
